Great night of sleep! Horray! To bed at 9:30, Up at 6, left hotel at 6:30, arrived Matthew and Suzannah’s at 7:15pm. Only 3 stops for gas: at 2 hours, 5 hours, tank was on fumes, and 4 hours to fill up only 20 minutes from destination.
Beautiful scenery again! Love Montana…in the SPRING…maybe not so much in the summer and winter!
Weather today was warm up to 87 but midday included rain showers, saw them roll in…and it “smelled” like rain! Add to that a nice lightening show!
Welcome to the Midwest with the strong winds 20-30 MPH coming from the south, I was driving east so they bounced the car a couple of time! That did not make for relaxing driving!
Surprise along the way: lupine along the side of the road and in some fields in northern Nebraska hills. Sorry no pictures to prove it! I’ve seen them driving over mountain passes but not out in fields!
Today half the day was driving I-90 until I need to head directly south the last 4 hours, then it was back to my favorite 2 lane roads through the countryside and small towns.
Drove through small town of Stromsburg NE a Swedish community that are celebrating this weekend. Only 15 minutes away. We are headed back there tomorrow to join in the festivities!
Tonight just good to sit and catch up with Matthew and Suzannah a bit. Stopped in March but it was for all of less than 2 hours! This time I get to spend a couple of days with them! Heard a bit about Matthew’s day of of bailing and stacking alfalfa. Even got to ask a couple of my “city slicker” questions!
Picture of Lupine if you don’t know what it looks like!
