July 15-16 Albert City

Monday was a bit of a quiet day! Perfect for me! Ran uptown to go in the one shop (floral shop with a few gifts) to browse, it was another HOT day.

After supper Tom and I took a drive once again looking for a good place to take sunset pictures! We drove by places where there used to be farm homes and other out houses that now are fields with no sign there ever being a farm house, barn or other buildings. Kind of sad! We ended up taking sunset pictures at the farm where dad was born and grew up. Beautiful sunset! Great memories! Tom was an encyclopedia of information knowledgeable about where uncles/aunts, dad’s cousins used to live. Ended our drive at Little Clear Lake with a beautiful small campground, children’s climbing toys. My early childhood memories of Little Clear Lake were on our winter visits driving out onto the frozen lake and being pulled behind a pickup truck while riding an inner tube. Such fond memories!

Queen Anne’s Lace found alongside the gravel roads in the ditches. These were always a part of my Auntie Mavis’ fresh flower arrangements which she was well known.
