July 3 - Eve of the 4th

Catching up on blogging: posting 7/5 3:45pm

This morning helped with morning chores of the chickens and pigs after Anna and I enjoyed breakfast together.  Started on a little weeding in the garden but ground was too wet! Also spent time prepping lettuce, making dill dip, and more for the 4th!

In the evening Bennett was a bit out of sorts until Anna mentioned getting the spray pad out (see pic) and then he was full of energy and very excited!

Crazy story tonight while enjoying the nice evening: There was a wild turkey on pig pen fence…it didn’t stick around too long as not only the dog saw it from way up in the yard and went after but one of the Kune Kune pigs went after it!

Since it was a quiet evening Anna decided it might be a good night to shoot off a few fireworks so Bennett and Anna picked a few smoke bombs, skyrocket with parachute. Right after the parachute skyrocket Bennett said: “mom, can we go inside now?” He was done!

One thing leads to another…think I’ll help organize the frig so we can fit more food in it! (Some of my friends know I like to help clean and organize refrigerators!) Well this shelf needs cleaning, oh this drawer needs to be wiped out! Oh let’s just take everything out and clean the all shelves and drawers! “Anna, let me know if you need something from the frig! I know where it is! Or I can explain my method of organization!”  Next day, well, not so organized but it was clean!

Bennett relaxed and “chilling” while I work on making a Scrubbie!

Dawson’s turn! He wanted some “Scrubbie time”!

Dawson and I checking out the new Costco magazine that came in the mail today! He especially liked the pictures of the doggies and kitties!

“Horray! The splash pad!!!”

Bennett: “I’m not sure I like these fireworks! Can we go inside?”
